Keeping ourselves busy while Daddy was away

Sunday we kept up the busy pace. We attempted our first Konza Prairie hike. Jackson was less than pleased with the whole idea: Levi quite enjoyed it sleeping in the carrier the whole time: We will be doing quite a bit more of this whether Jackson likes it or not. The Konza trail is beautiful and I really enjoyed it even if Jackson did scream for over an hour. I think part of the reason he was upset is that I stopped carrying him in the backpack when I got noticeably pregnant and he hadn't been in it for a while. He definitely felt constrained and was unhappy. He made it clear that he didn't want to be in the backpack and that he didn't want to walk either. Which left him with few options. In the end he fell asleep in the backpack. The hike was a huge success from the perspective that Jackson took a 4 hour nap when we got home!

Later on in the day, we practiced eating with a spoon:

This morning we went to the park down the street where Jackson met up with his bestie/girlfriend Denali: We are really glad fall is here, Jackson looks so cute: After the park, we came home, Jackson had a snack and both boys took a nap. While the boys were sleeping, I cleaned the kitchen and started some laundry. Levi woke up after a short nap, he seems to nap for much shorter periods than Jackson. When he woke up, we practiced smiling but its still hard to catch it with the camera:. The long weekend is over and we are awaiting Daddy's return tonight. Next week is super exciting because Grandma Sally is coming plus a visit from GAM (Great Aunt Mary) and GUB (Great Uncle Barney) is also in store. Stay tuned for updates of super duper family fun next week.
