Jackson's travels continue

Last week, I came home from Vegas at about 2am on Tuesday morning. Wednesday was a good day for lounging. We went out to dinner on Wednesday night to a little Italian place we quite enjoy. With yummy food we were ready to spend the rest of the week getting ourselves in gear to take Jackson with us to a debate tournament for the first time. On Friday morning we left for Kansas City. We decided this was a good tournament to take Jackson to because it was so close to home. We also knew that we would be home on Sunday night and that since it was close and a short trip, we should give it a shot.

Jackson did pretty well at the debate tournament, obviously, he is used to taking several naps a day in his bed, so being lugged around the tournament all day was not as peaceful and quiet as he is used to. He seemed to like to nap more in the ergo baby than in the stroller though.

The great part of the tournament was that we won the whole thing, so that was pretty good. The great thing about taking Jackson with us was that he slept until NOON on Monday! This was awesome, because when one of us comes home from a tournament without taking Jackson we are always more tired than he is. But this time, he was more tired than we were and so we got to sleep until 11am on Monday totally uninterrupted. And, I must say that sleeping in is totally amazing.

The debaters were totally awesome and I think some of them even enjoyed having Jackson around. it obviously did not inhibit their ability to debate one bit. Jackson thoroughly enjoyed the awards ceremony.

This weekend we are going to try it again at the Emporia State University tournament which is only an hour away. We think he'll do great this time too!
