48 Hour Check-Up & Other Goodies

It has become clear that different people have particular names for our kid that they like better than others. The debaters, and most of us around the house still refer to him as "The Bubba" or "That Bubba" or "Bubbaman"- Justin really likes "Jack", and My dad really likes "Jax".

Let's try not to fight over his name, and I say to each their own. I like the idea of a kid with a bunch of nicknames, it means he is loved and obviously, popular already!

The first 48 hours of Jackson's life have been filled with exciting activities. Milestones include- stretching out his arms and legs, flexing his ankles, his ability to use his neck seems far beyond his mere two day stint here, farting like a champ, a couple bowel movements, smacking his lips and other assorted things- yes folks, this is what our life has devolved to, counting pee & poo, we like it and we asked for it. We've always been into joking about bodily functions anyways.

Justin's mother has been a super trooper. She actually claims to enjoy changing diapers, and if she is willing to make that claim, we are ready to take her up on that offer. One thing we have learned about our little man is that he hates being changed because he hates being naked. I can't quite figure out how someone who just started wearing clothes less than 48 hours ago could hate returning to the nude so soon after making the switch.

We returned to the birthing center today for his 48 hour check up today. They said he was doing fine. Tomorrow we will introduce the kid to a pediatrician, and then maybe we will be done with doctors for a little while!
