"Spring Fest"

Yesterday was a great day. We started off going to the Farmer's Market. We hadn't been in a couple of years because we were not so impressed with it when we first moved here. This time we were far more impressed with the market and we are even considering coming up with a good idea for a booth to open at the market. More on that later if it actually comes to fruition.

After the market, where we bought a new basil plan (somehow, we killed ours) and a loaf of bread we came home for naptime. I made an omlet with delicious cabot cheddar cheese and packed the bubba a lunch. Yesterday was Kyle's birthday and the spring game, so we had lent Kyle & George the big tent and then went up to the lot as soon as it opened and set up their tailgate with our tent.

This tent has proven to be one of the best investments we have ever made. To think that buying it cost just as much as renting it for the weekend and we have had several good backyard gatherings and tailgates with it since using it for our wedding weekend. I digress, getting back to our wonderful Saturday. The bubba woke up from his nap and we headed up to the tailgate where there was much good food and football celebration.

Jackson sat in his chair, rolled around on his gorgeous quilt and played ball with the boys. The marching band came by our tent and played a set for us. Jackson thought it was so-so.

The Spring Game is way more than just a game and a tailgate. It is also "Spring Fest". There was a stage with a country singer that we were not familiar with. The event also included a HUGE kid extravaganza and inflatable carnival at the football team's indoor practice facility. So we took a walk to check it out. Justin was in awe of the turf in the facility and Jackson got extremely excited meeting Willie the Wildcat for the first time.

Jackson was pretty tuckered out by the time the game began, so we went into the stadium for a little bit, but left during the first quarter. We got home just in time for a lengthy nap. It was indeed, a most excellent Saturday.
